The past two weeks have been some of the most competitive
and exciting beach tennis to date at the Deerfield “Beach
Tennis” Training Center. The October 23, Breast Cancer
Fundraiser was a great success. Over 30 players competed
in the event. Jan Macko and Craig Jones defeated Marius
Copas and Andrea Vecci in a close final. Teams were broken
into four groups with the top two advancing into a quarter-final
round. Players came from Boca Raton, South Beach, Coral
Springs, Miramar, and other South Florida locations.
Donations were given to the Susan G. Komen for Breast
Cancer.
The October 30th training session was one of the most
competitive yet, as some of the top players from near and far.
The winner of the March Singles Beach Tennis Tournament,
Thomas Hipp, IFBT-Columbia President, Carlos Polonia, the
Barry University Tennis team, amongst other strong players
were in attendance. A large group of the players are training
to participate in the IFBT-Puerto Rico Tournament over the
weekend of November 12-14. The IFBT USA Beach Tennis
Training Center is one of a kind in the United States, because
of its overall talent of players and enthusiastic attitude.
